What can I say about this gorgeous backyard wedding in Kansas City other than WOW!?! When you mix a gorgeous home in the rolling hills of Mission Hills, Kansas with amazing flowers, bright linens, twinkling lights and a group of incredibly happy and excited people the result is magical.
Kind of like the way that Jason and Caroline met. Both were living away from Kansas City when they visited home for Christmas. Neither of them were bar people but happened to be out with friends and bumped into each other. After hitting it off almost immediately they realized that they had gone to the same schools growing up and had plenty of mutual friends, but somehow their paths hadn’t crossed until the right moment. Magic.
Despite a constant (and slightly scary) threat of rain, the day was absolutely gorgeous. Caroline’s dad and stepmother opened up their lovely home to guests and the feeling was personal and elegant. The band, Noteworthy Jazz, serenaded everyone through dinner and past sunset into a twinkling evening. Enjoy!
From Caroline:
Favorite Moment of the Day: There are so many! Peeking out at the guests arriving with my bridesmaids was fun.
Inspiration for the wedding: Garden Party
Advice to brides planning in the future: Start planning early so you can enjoy the day!
Special thanks to my second photographer Jessica Martz!
Caroline had her mother’s engagement ring sew to her dress for the day. It was such a sweet token.
Jason’s reaction is priceless. Caroline looked amazing and you can definitely tell he thought so too.
Note to self: Don’t set your extra camera down when groomsmen are around. 99% sure this was not shot by me:)
And the award for the most darling flower girl ever goes to this sweet little love.

Bridal Accessories: I had many old, new, borrowed and blue things. My step-mother Marie loaned me earrings and a necklace with pearls.
