Nate and Megan’s Kansas City wedding day was the perfect juxtaposition of old and new. From the age old wisdom spoken during their homily to the new cheers for the happy couple as they exited their church through a cloud of tossed lavender. The architecture of the newly renovated Rumely Tractor Historic Event Space was the perfect setting for their twinkling lights, pops of gold, and bright airy florals. Enjoy!
From our Bride Megan:
Favorite Moment of the Day:
This is really hard because there were so many favorite moments, but I guess I’d have to say having family and friends together and seeing everyone have a great time and enjoy the day as much I was from the start to the finish. From getting ready with my bridesmaids, maid of honor, and mom, to everyone sending us off in the car that I only thought would stay part of my dream wedding rather than the actual one.n Nate particularly loved our entrance and how everyone sent us off. For me, truthfully, I can’t just nail down one part of the day that was my favorite because everything about the day was more perfect than I could have imagined. Everyone made it so much fun and so special. nI only wish that I could go back in time and watch as an invitee so that I could really take everything in.
Inspiration for the wedding:
We knew we wanted a rustic feel but we went back and forth between going more chic or elegant and finally landed on elegant as we began making design and decoration decisions. So the inspiration was rustic elegance with shades of pink, navy, and gold accents.
Advice to brides planning in the future:
I know it’s been said over and over, but find a way to truly take in the day, to stop and watch everyone having a great time and look at all the decorations. I was so excited to see how the centerpieces and all other decorations turned out (I don’t think I even looked at the decorations at the church 🙁 and I don’t think I ever got the chance to truly appreciate the centerpieces or decorations at the reception. Save everything you can, use a videographer (we did not have one and that is my only regret because the video will allow you to see parts of the wedding in action that you probably missed and it will give you that passerby perspective). Also, if your times for your ceremony and reception work out for you and your husband to see the ceremony and reception all decorated with no one else around I would recommend trying to do that just so you can truly appreciate the hard work all your vendors have done to make your dream come true and to give you and your husband the chance to have a few more quiet moments together.
A huge thank you to my second photographer, Mike Tsai!
