Mollie and Kelly {Union Station Wedding Kansas City Photography}
Mollie’s wedding day was a huge milestone. For Kelly and Mollie it will be the day that they started their union together and will be celebrated yearly as they grow and love together for many many years. For me, it marked the start of my new life. I met Mollie at a Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show one week after landing in Kansas City. I was brand new to the area and Mollie’s wedding was the first date I booked. I thank this beautiful couple daily for taking a chance on the newcomer as I could not have asked for more wonderful people to share my work with.
Despite a few scary bumps in the wedding planning and life leading up to wedding, Mollie and Kelly’s Union Station wedding came together perfectly. Mollie works out of Union Station so it was the perfect place to bring together her wonderful vision. Our morning started at Mollie’s mom’s lovely house in Leawood. It was straight out of Better Homes and Gardens and it was all I could do not to curl up on her veranda with a warm cup of coffee. As comfortable and inviting as it was, it also provided the perfect setting and beautiful light for Mollie’s details and dressing shots. Across town, my wonderful second shooter, Mallory of Avia Photography, was hanging out with Kelly and the guys at the Westin Hotel downtown. We all met up at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Brookside for a lovely ceremony that brought tears to many eyes. Kelly’s dad graciously (and nervously) lent them his vintage cherry red corvette for a perfect send off from the church.
After a trolley tour of some of Kansas City’s most lovely gardens and lowest bottoms, we narrowly made it back to Union Station in time to beat the rain. Thanks to the many vendors and fantastic planning, Mollie and Kelly were able to kick back and enjoy a delicious dinner and an evening of dancing and laughing surrounded by heir closest family and friends.
