Sara and Scott met on New Year’s Eve one fateful night in Denver Colorado. Sara was studying medicine and Scott does something on the internet. Sara was living in Florida and Scott in Denver but it didn’t take them long to turn their cross country romance into something more serious. Sara grew up in the Kansas City area and so they decided to have a destination wedding here in her hometown. They treated their guests to the very best of Kansas City for the weekend; a KC Royal’s game, Arthur Bryant’s BBQ, after parties at some of KCs top hotspots, and an after wedding brunch. They wanted their wedding day to be fun, and they decided to extend that to the entire weekend. I am pretty sure they nailed it! Enjoy!
Favorite Moment of the Day: Definitely walking down the aisle with my dad in the cathedral with the trumpet playing and Scott at the other end.
Inspiration for the wedding: We just wanted it to be a colorful, awesome dance party. Love birds was also a theme
Advice to brides planning in the future: Do all the stressing before the day of and then let go that day because it’s too late to change anything anyway. Also the majority of our guests were out of town so we planned lots of events to include everyone (Royal’s game, Arthur Bryant’s BBQ, nearby bars for after rehearsal dinner and after wedding drinking, brunch at the hotel). We were tired but it’s definitely worth making an effort to go out and talk to all these people that came for you because they won’t all be in the same place at the same time again.
Special Thanks to my second photographer Kyle Lackey.
