Details, details, details! Daniel and Sarah’s stunning wedding at the Little Theater in Kansas City was full of stunning details! From the colors, to the flowers, to pops of light and color through the day it was perfect. My favorite details though were the ones that will only be seen at this day. The gold coins that Daniel has been collecting throughout his life just so that he could hand them to his bride on this day. The letters that Sarah wrote to her future husband and finally got to deliver. The toast that shared with everyone the sweet story of Daniel’s father going to America from Spain to find a green eyed Kansas girl for his bride and to have a similar story replay for Daniel and Sarah. It was day full of special details and moments that will never be forgotten. Enjoy!
From our bride, Sarah:
Favorite Moment of the Day: I think it is a tie between the first look and walking down the aisle/the ceremony. All day I was trying to hold back emotions and nerves, but seeing Daniel really helped to comfort and calm me. He is so easy-going and I am so anxious so finally getting to have him by my side made the whole rest of the day memorable. Also, walking down the aisle I got really emotional but seeing how happy everyone was made me so happy. I think those are my favorite moments because they were filled with so much emotion but they were both so genuine and filled with love and comfort and just promise for how the future will be.
For Daniel: He said his favorite moments were seeing me walk down the aisle and the dip we did to finish off our dance. I had been so nervous about the dip (would my heels slip, could my dress bend that way), but Daniel was so excited about it! He had been getting me practice almost every day. He loved the idea and he loved how it all came together at the end of our first dance.
Inspiration for the wedding: I think I really played off the venue. I wanted to do something that was classic and timeless. I wanted to keep it sophisticated but still romantic and elegant. The venue (The Little Theater) is very art deco so I wanted to utilize that but not be too much into a “theme” other than classic.
Advice to brides planning in the future: Get a wedding planner! I do not know what I would have done without Jessica. She was so helpful and steady throughout the whole process. She really made the whole thing enjoyable and fun.
Also, I forgot to add, that I was, and still am, OBSESSED with how the curtains turned out. The way they went from ceiling to floor and framed the stage was better than I could have dreamed. And the flowers were phenomenal and really brought it the plum element to such a gold room.
Special thanks to my second photographer, Kami Van Slyke.
